KIDS camp is off to a great start. It's really really exciting teaching these kids how important it is to work together as a team. I always tell the kids up front "fishing is going to get better as the week goes on, not because the fish are doing anything different, but we will begin to work better as a team". Check out these Snook Fishing images from our future anglers. The kids are producing some very impressive catches!

Redfish are showing up in better numbers. I have to wonder... all changes around the a full moon! if that has anything to do with it. not enough water, too much water, full moon. Grass all over the top of the water, full moon. Moon phase, tide changes, pressures, etc. all give us different equations as we try to figure out the best way to trick these game fish. Check out these images of some recent catches.

These fellas are with "McRiggers". They specialize in any and all rigging for any and all vessels. I have them tuning up our anchor Rhodes and quick release loops that connect to our drop bouys. This time of year we run into Resident Tarpon and Cobia often. Having the proper equipment makes all the difference getting that fish to the boat.

Tampa Bay fishing is just great right now. This past week as the front push through the water temperature dropped 10° in some places. This gave for some tough fishing. Things are back to normal and better than ever. This is a great time of year to fish, as the fish seem to be staged up and waiting for the bait to come in, as if they could smell it coming. Snook fishing is plentiful. This particular species we practice catch and release to preserve the fishery. Redfish? Were the last to cooperate, but they too are playing the game! Check out this image for a look at a couple nice Redfish.

Bogo Cobia Today! What a beautiful day it is when our clients get to experience the opportunity to hook into a Tampa Bay Cobia. They fight, they peel line off the reel, and they make long hard runs. In a perfect world we would offer this species as a "Can definitely do" to our clients.... However they are very elusive and targeting them is time-consuming. So the approach we take is to seize every opportunity on our trip to keep an eye out for these prized game fish to get a shot at one.

Capt. Oliver and Capt. Rocky are cleaning fish at the cleaning table. Here's a few things we do a little different. When you catch a fish on our boat it goes straight from the bay water into our cooler with an icy salt water slush mix. We call that our fish box, the fish never hits the deck and the fish doesn't see the sun. The two reasons for this is, if the fish hits the deck it bruises the meat, and when the sun hits it it turns to mush. and last but not least notice there is no blood on the cleaning table. We do not cut through the ribs dragging bacteria around the fish meat. We cut around the ribs on all fish, and keep the fresh cut filet's cold at all times. With the money you spend and the work that is put in to catch a Nice fish you deserve only the best fish handling and fish cleaning preparation. These techniques will ensure you have a wonderful experience dining on your fresh fish caught fish with Tampa Fishing Charters®, Inc.
