The fishing area We are going to mention in this report has several spots located in and around About a 2 mile radius from the center of.....The Apollo Beach Manatee viewing center! a.k.a. The power plant. With the hot water discharge, heating up the expansive area, the fish in our region; being tropical in nature, come into these warm waters to thrive and feed. Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center is so unique . Anglers appreciate a little break from the normal estuaries we fish to see manatees swimming through the Tampa Electric water plant. At the Big Bend Power Station in Apollo Beach, manatees, seek refuge in the power station's discharge panel, where clean, warm Tampa Bay saltwater flows. December 10, 2017 Tampa Bay fishing report. The water temperature is averaging high 50s after a considerably long stretch of cold weather. Naturally one would expect the Sheepshead to be showing up in great size and numbers. However although we’ve been catching them, I would not consider the bite to be it’s best. The good news for us and you, if your planning on fishing with us is the fact that we will probably have an extended season fishing for Sheepshead. Pompano have been showing up all over Tampa Bay. Very hard to target, as there are fast movers. Trying to put a method to catching pompano on the run is very tough. We catch them a lot and enjoy the gifts!
Check out these pics of some recent sheepshead and pompano fishing.

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog. Check out our fishing reports for current up-to-date play by plays on what’s going on out there in the pristine waters of Tampa Bay.

December 2017 Tampa Bay fishing report. Flocks of white Pelicans invade Tampa Bay. Migrating ducks of all different species including Pintails, Wood ducks, Mallards, etc., are settling up residence in and around the estuaries of Tampa Bay for their winter visit. Fishing Is incredible this time of year. Here is a snapshot of what a daily fishing charter with us looks like, this time of year. As we push off the dock early in the morning everybody is dressed in layers with beanie caps and winter warm wear. By the time mid morning rolls around we start stuffing the hatches with jackets and sweatshirts. We do have a year-round fishery, sometimes the species change sometimes the bait changes. This month we will be targeting Snook, Sheepshead, Spotted Seatrout, and Flannel Mouth Snapper. Other species that we will definitely run into as we bounce around Tampa Bay in the cool brisk weather will include Sharks, Redfish, Bluefish, and Flounder. Low tides, a moderately chopped bay and some wind will Give us the advantage in some areas and a challenge in others. We accept the challenge!
